31 Day Challenge - Day 7: Black & White

Ok I have to admit, out of all the nails I’ve done in this challenge, these are my favorite.

I was pretty uninspired about this prompt, and I was considering just doing some newspaper nails, when I found these stickers that I bought for like, two dollars in Japan town, in San Francisco. I figured they’d be pretty crap, but I wanted to try them anyway.
image
I can’t read the packaging, because it’s in Japanese, obviously. So I don’t know if there’s any way to buy them online, but if you live anywhere near San Francisco, they sell them at one of the grocery stores in Japan town. It’s in the nail polish section by the hair dye.
Anyway, It comes with nice little picture instructions for how to apply them.

It comes with two sheets of ten, so I’ll be able to get another use out of them.
As you can see, the sticker is just the black part, so I could have used any base color, really.

So I lined them up to my nail, cut it down to size, peeled off the backing, and stuck it on my white base.  Then I just used a tiny set of nail clippers to cut off the excess, and topped with two thick coats of topcoat.
Base coat is Orly White Out.

I love how these look. It looks like I used a tiny brush and put tons of effort into my nails, doesn’t it? And it was relatively quick to do.
I’m totally stocking up on them next time I’m in the city.

Thanks for reading!

31 DAY NAIL CHALLENGE, COMMENCE!!!
Yes, that’s right, I’m gonna give it a shot. But I will say right now I will NOT be doing it every day - only when I have a break in studies. Also, I will be doing more than one design for some of the challenges, simply because my lovely roommate has offered her nails as extra canvas.
Day 1 - Red
I wanted to try some butterfly nails again, but make them a bit more realistic looking. So I ended up with these. I still wasn’t completely wowed by them, but I liked them enough.
Colors Used: Sinful Colors Ruby Ruby, Essie Good as Gold, LA Colors Black, Essie Shine of the Times, Essie Matte About You
And on Kelsey’s nails (since she’s such a Trekkie) I tried some nice simple Red Shirt nails. I LOVE THEM!!!
Colors Used: Essie Russian Roulette, Sinful Colors Pull Over, LA Colors Black

Day 4: Green

Bride of Frankenstein
Frankenstein
This called for something Halloween-y since I’d been too busy to get to anything Halloween yet. So yay! I got at least one spooky design in lol
Colors Used: Maybelline Go Go Green, Essie Blanc, Essie Licorice

Day 1: Red Nails

31 Day Challenge: Day 1 - Red Nails
Base coat (Arens) - Red Nailpolish (Colorama RubĂ) - Nail art pen (Enamel art 1000 B&W) - Glitter Red Polish - Top Coat (Pamela Grant)
Hi this is my first day in 31 day nail art challenge 0, i want to change a little the rules because i don’t have enought time to do every day a different nail polish. So i do it one a week so its going to be a 31 week nail polish.
1st day - Red Nails
I used a lovely red of coloroma by maybelline (very cheap in my town $990 Chile) and i made 2 lady bugs.
I hope you like it.
Watch some awesome nails & get inspired.

Day 2: Orange Nails

I did a white base with this one, and then mixed various orange polishes with some nail polish remover and painted them on with a paint brush. Topped it off with a Matte coat.

31 Day Challenge - Day 6: Violet

Well, these didn’t come out as awesome as they could’ve been, probably. I still really like them, but I was just feeling a bit uninspired and I kinda just wanted to get it over with. I used the explosion tape manicure technique from the fabulous Nailside, and did silver explosions coming from different directions on each finger.
image
The base color is two coats of China Glaze Spontaneous, a polish of my sister’s that I’d never tried before, and I actually really like. It’s a lovely blue-toned purple cream, and it dries a bit darker than bottle color. Explosions are done in Sally Hansen Silver Sweep, my favorite silver layering polish. It’s super opaque and dries quickly.
I actually kind of liked my right hand better, but forgot to take pictures of it before it had gotten serious tipwear, and I decided it wasn’t worth it.
